Upliftment of Women :
Preamble :
Upliftment of women
by itself defined as raising the standards of living or living
conditions of women. In today's context raising the living
condition is plausible only through raising the social status
in which they are in, with the economic inputs. Economic
inputs can be nurtured through adequate entrepreneurship
skills, which will raise and enhance the living conditions by
promising an income and also empowering them with an adequate
power i.e., by becoming an employer, which is the present need
for the hour in any developing country especially in the case
of India where women constitute near about half of the total
population. The upliftment of women is broadly based on the
role of four major factors, self, family, environment, and
governmental and non-governmental organizations.
a. Role of Self :
| 1. |
Achievement motivation
orientation within women is highly indispensable. |
| 2. |
Confidence
building and persistence should be culminated which
would bring positive drive. |
| 3. |
Self-reliance and
self-esteem are vital in upliftment of
women. |
b.
Role of Family :
| 1. |
Frequent encouragement of
women and facilitation will motivate them to uplift
themselves with the self-identification of their talents
and resources. |
| 2. |
Traditional
values and norms should be relaxed, more so within the
family, by its members, for uplifting
women. |
c.
Role of Environment :
| 1. |
Society should appreciate
the emerging talents of women and tap them for the
upliftment of women to attain economic growth of any
developing country. |
| 2. |
The society
should have confidence and faith on women and avoid
perceiving negatively towards their efforts in the
economic and political participation which will upbring
them from the downtrodden level. |
| 3. |
Women workforce
should interact with each other regardless of their
status under a common platform to integrate the talents
of women. |
| 4. |
Society or the
environment should pave a path and set-free women to
become independent in decision making, active
participation in all the avenues. |
